The Tampa Bay Rays defeated the Cleveland Indians, 2-1, in American League action at Tropicana Field. Tampa Bay pitcher David Price had a standout performance. Tampa Bay goes to 45-55, Cleveland to 45-52.

Tampa Bay took the lead, 2-1, on Dave Martinez's 2nd home run of the season. The solo home run came off Cleveland pitcher Cliff P Lee in the bottom of the seventh.

Cleveland manager , after yet another defeat, said: "We don't want to panic. At the same time, we need to stop the bleeding."
