Benefiting from Brian Roberts's productive game, the Baltimore Orioles downed the Boston Red Sox, 4-1. Roberts was 3 for 5 with a home run and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Orioles. The Orioles upped their record to 47-50.

In the bottom of the ninth, with the score tied, Roberts hammered a 3-run home run to win it for Baltimore.
