Orioles Win 4th Straight, Take Down Astros, 7-4
|
The Baltimore Orioles picked up a win at Oriole Park at Camden Yards, knocking off the Houston Astros, 7-4. Starting pitcher Webster McDonald played a key role in the triumph. McDonald picked up the win for Baltimore, going 6 innings. He gave up 1 run on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 2-1. Erik Bedard earned save number 1 this season.
Ken Williams had a big 2-run double for the Orioles in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Baltimore leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a curveball from fireballing 6' 8" right-hander J R Richard and swatted a double to center. It was his 1st double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Orioles ahead, 3-0.
"As well as we've been playing, I think we can play even better," said Baltimore manager .
Houston is 7-5 after the defeat.
