Blue Jays Handed 6-0 Loss by New York
|
Ron Guidry was masterful in helping the New York Yankees take down the Toronto Blue Jays, 6-0. The winner was Guidry. He threw 6.0 innings of shutout ball. The loser was Jimmy Key. New York, now 55-36, holds down first place in the American League Eastern Division.
In the bottom of the first inning, left fielder Joe DiMaggio had a 2-run double for New York. It was his 10th double of the season and put the Yankees on top, 2-0.
"Ron turns into a different animal when it's his turn to pitch," said New York manager .
