Cole, Astros Get Tidy 3-1 Win Over Minnesota
|
The 2014 season did not get off to quite the start the Minnesota Twins had hoped, with an opening day loss to the Houston Astros at Target Field. The final score was 3-1. Starting Pitcher Gerrit Cole was the top performer for Houston. Larry Andersen was credited with the save for Houston, his 1st of the season.
Cole, the Houston right-hander, went 5.2 innings, allowing no runs on 2 hits. He collected 10 strikeouts.
"Gerrit was dictating to their hitters," said Houston manager .
