Faber Fashions Shutout Against Detroit Wednesday, October 1st , 2014 The Detroit Tigers met their match today in Chicago hurler Red Faber. He kept them guessing the whole game and spun a 4-hit shutout. "He just worked us over," Detroit skipper said. "He probably didn't even need a shower after the game -- he barely worked up a sweat." In the 10-0 victory, Faber whiffed 6 and gave up 1 walk. Thus far this season, Faber has posted a 13-14 record, started 32 games, struck out 123 batters in 216.1 innings and compiled a 3.24 ERA.
