Diamondbacks Smoke Rockies, 13-2
|
Things keep getting worse for Colorado.
The Arizona Diamondbacks easily defeated the Colorado Rockies, 13-2, at Chase Field, with designated hitter Luis E Gonzalez a main contributor to the win. He was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 doubles, while adding 7 RBI and scoring once for Arizona. Dan Haren earned the win to go to 3-1. He allowed 2 runs on 7 hits, with 2 walks and 3 strikeouts in 8 innings of work.
With Arizona leading 5-2 in the bottom of the fifth, Gonzalez hit a fastball from Darryl Kile for a 3-run home run. It was his 7th home run of the season and put the Diamondbacks ahead, 8-2.
"We had a nice day," said Arizona skipper .
The losing streak has reached 8 games for the Rockies. Manager was visibly upset after the game, hurling a string of profanities en route to the clubhouse.
