Arizona pitcher Dan Haren did his part in helping his team beat the Detroit Tigers, 4-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Haren got the win, improving to 7-10. He gave up 10 hits and walked 1 over 8 innings. He allowed no runs. Arizona, at 41-59, holds down 4th place in the National League Western Division.

The Diamondbacks got a big at-bat from center fielder Ketel Marte. For the game, Marte went 1 for 4 with a triple. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring triple. His 7th triple of the season gave Arizona a 1-0 lead.
