Fading Diamondbacks Lose 7th Straight
|
The Atlanta Braves racked up a win at Turner Field, bumping off the Arizona Diamondbacks, 4-3. Warren Spahn, who started for Atlanta, pitched effectively for his team. The Braves improved to 47-39.
Chipper Jones drew 2 walks in 4 trips to the plate for Atlanta. The 27-year old third baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring walk off Daniel Hudson. It was his 35th walk of the season.
"I know everybody in here is putting in the work," said Arizona manager . "It's just not paying off."
