Three Months Into The Season

June 30, 1969

After three months the AL East division lead is tied between the Tigers and the Yankees with 46 wins. In the NL West division the Giants and the Dodgers are tied at 45 wins. The White Sox are four games ahead of the Twins in the AL West. The Cubs are hanging on to a one game lead over the Cardinals in the NL east. A new face has entered the pitching wins leaderboard, Sammy Ellis of the Reds with 13 wins, he has won his last 9 starts!. Ron Santo has been hot at the plate collecting RBI he now is on top with 74. The home run race is tightning up with six batters with 20 or more homers. Roger Maris is on top with 24 followed by Mantle, Killebrew and Mays at 22 with Cash and Howard at 20.
