We are just over fifty games into the season about 1/3 the way home. The Yankees and the White Sox lead their respective division with a 32-20 mark. The Tigers are just one game off in the AL east. The Braves are still on top of the NL west two games ahead of the Dodgers. The Cardinals also have a two game lead in the NL east over the Pirates. The White Sox have well rounded lineup anchored by Minnie Minoso and Tommie Agee both have hit double digits in homers. Their pitching staff is lead by Tommy John (5-0), Ray Herbert (6-2) and Joe Horland (6-4) with Wood (5-3) with 5 saves. They Yankees Whitey Ford and Mel Stottlemyre are both 8-3 on the season. Roger Maris and Mickey Mantle provide the power with 17 and 12 homers. Roy White leads the club in hitting at .333.

Highlights

May 4th in Boston's Fenway the White Sox Floyd Robinson hit for a cycle going 4-5 on the day. His efforts were in vain though as Rico Petrocelli hit a walk off homer in the 9th. It was Rico's second dinger of the day!

May 21st in Los Angeles the Tigers defeat the Angels in 11 innings. Al Kaline of the Tigers was 5 for 6 on the day.

May 26th St. Louis, Bob Gibson NO HITS the Cincinnati Reds, walking 3 striking out 7.
