When Babe took his spot in the Angels team as a two way player he not only pitched he also played left field as well as batted DH. Babe hit 56 homers, batted .329, .442 on base, .765 slugging. On the mound Babe was 18-1 with a 1.46 era and a .817 WHIP.

Let's wrap this up!

So how good was Babe? He was just as powerful as Stanton, Judge, Maris, McGwire, and Sosa., but not as powerful as Bonds. As a two way player he was more powerful and more dominate on the mound than Ohtani. With all that said all the players I have compared to Ruth would be honored to be mentioned in the same breathe.

To summarize Babe filled in rather nicely for all players except falling short of Barry Bonds in 2001. He out batted all other candidates in average, on base percentage and slugging. He collected 11 more homers than Judge in 2017, 3 more than Ohtani in 2021 and 22 more than Ohtani in 2022. He was only behind Stanton by 5 in 2017, 1 less than Maris in 1961, 2 less than McGwire and 3 less than Sosa in 1998. When compared to Ohtani in pitching he won 3 less games in 2021 and won 3 more in 2022 lossing only 3 games in the two year span. In 2022 he was very close to winning the MVP and Cy Young. He lead the league in Homers and ERA! He also pitched a no hitter vs the Rangers on his second to last game. The game named Shane Bieber the Cy Young winner 16-5, 1.77/.790/325, Ruth was 18-1, 1.46/.765/216. The game named Jose Abreu as MVP, .364/50/.399/.689 while Ruth was .329/56/.442/.765.
