01/16/1907 Negro League stars jump to majors. Pitchers 'Smoky" Joe Williams and Jose Mendez join the Highlanders and the Senators respectively. Joe played for the New York Lincoln Giants and Jose for the Cuban Stars. Also joining the majors is Candy Jim Taylor who jumped from the St. Louis Stars to the Cardinals.
01/16/1906 Negro League stars jump to majors. Short stop John Henry Lloyd and catcher Bruce Petway left the Philadelphia Stars to join the Philadelphia Phillies. Charles Earle, Ashby Dunbar and Pop Andrews hopped from the Brooklyn Royal Giants to the Brooklyn Superbas. Pitcher Bill Gatewood left the Chicago American Giants to become a Chicago Cub.
01/10/1904 Cuban league stars Rafael Figarola and Gervasio Gonzalez headed north to join the St. Louis Browns and the Pittsburgh Pirates.
01/16/1903 Black stars Walter Ball and Andrew Payne left the negro leagues for the Chicago Cubs and the Washington Sentors respectively.
01/11/1902 Andrew "Rube" Foster of the Chicago American Giants jump into the majors to become a Cub.
