There are two entrees here using Dave Koch’s Sports PC Baseball BBHistory2025 database. The first entree is one season with 64 clubs representing the history of baseball from 1880 to 20023. It is using the 500PA-200IP-50GP version. The second entree, “The Best Players of All Time” has 24 clubs representing the different eras in baseballs history. A replay season from each of the 12 eras is played and the results are documented. It uses the 5000PA-2000IP-500GP version.

The Dave Koch Sports Baseball History Collection used for this project includes:

Over 8000 players from the Master Set who exceeded 500 plate appearances, 200 innings pitched, or 50 games pitched.

BBHistory2025-5000PA-2000IP-500GP
Over 1600 players from the Master Set who exceeded 5000 plate appearances, 2000 innings pitched, or 500 games pitched.

About The Baseball History Collection – Peak Career Slice
Players are created using the best 35-100% of their career. The longer the career the smaller the percentage used. Each season or portion of a season used is normalized for their home park for that season. Outlier seasons are adjusted to lesson their impact. All players are then assigned to a neutral home park and a year based on a weighted usage of the seasons included in the career slice. In an effort to remove significant outlier years the year listed for each player does not always represent the best year of his career. Ratings and statistics are based on official Dave Koch Sports season files from 1880 to present.
