The Detroit Tigers have a rising superstar or maybe even a budding Hall-of-Famer in the making. It's Guy Morton, this year's AL Cy Young Award selection. This blossoming hurler wowed fans, peers and sportswriters with a fabulous performance.

Morton compiled a 26-10 record in 39 starts, tallied 187 strikeouts in 325.2 innings and recorded a 1.88 ERA. Other clubs managed only a .231 batting average against him.

He received 15 first place votes out of a possible 20. Dick Rudolph of the Kansas City Monarchs finished second in voting with 5 first place votes, while Stan Coveleski of the Philadelphia Athletics finished third.
