O'Farrell and Lloyd Traded Friday, September 29th , 1916 A trade was announced today at a press conference in Philadelphia. Not satisfied with their current roster, the Philadelphia Phillies general manager shook things up by acquiring 32-year old SS John Henry Lloyd from the Birmingham Black Barons for 19-year old C Bob O'Farrell and 22-year old RHP Cliff Markle. "We're a better team now," Phillies general manager said. "We've added several pieces to the puzzle." Lloyd has hit for a .314 career average and totaled 1896 hits, 35 home runs and 875 RBIs. |
