Detroit-Chicago Announce Deal

The Baseball News Network is reporting that the Tigers and White Sox have consummated a trade. Chicago will receive 26-year old 3B Ray Bates and 22-year old LHP Herb Pennock in a swap for 34-year old RHP Ad Lankford. A league analyst called the trade a "fairly even transaction."


During his career, Pennock has made 155 relief appearances and converted 24 saves. His record stands at 20-30 with a 4.25 ERA.

During his career, Lankford has a 12-9 record. He has 93 strikeouts in 225.2 innings and has made 149 appearances, picking up 31 saves and posting a 2.67 ERA.
