Walter Johnson kept the Boston Braves hitters from doing much damage at South_Side_Park_1901-1909.
Boston could only muster 4 hits and draw 3 walks against the right-handed Johnson, who controlled them throughout the game. Chicago American won the contest, 3-0. Johnson added 5 strikeouts in his complete-game effort.
"I don't know if I was on or if they were off today," Johnson told reporters after the shutout win. "But whatever it was, I hope it happens again next time."
On the year, Johnson has compiled a 25-12 mark with a 2.15 ERA.
