Consecutive-Game Hit Streak Continues for Strunk
Tuesday, September 5th , 1916
Amos Strunk has been on a tear for several weeks, and his hitting streak just keeps getting longer. The 27-year-old Philadelphia Phillies center fielder extended his streak to 20 games, going 2-for-4 as Philadelphia got the best of the Boston Braves at Braves Field, 4-3.
"Amos has been playing real well lately and we're proud of him," Phillies manager said. Amos Strunk flied out in the 1st, hit a two-run double in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th, struck out in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
This year, Strunk is hitting .272 with 2 home runs.
