In the Chicago's 19-1 win over Homestead, center fielder Benny Kauff was red-hot, scorching them for hit after hit at Forbes_Field_1909-1924. "To hit the ball consistently well, you have to relax," Kauff said afterward. "I was relaxed for the first four hits, but I have to admit, I got a little tight when I realized I had a chance for five. On the last at-bat, I was ready to swing at anything close." Benny Kauff hit a solo-shot off Rube Benton in the 1st, hit a three-run double in the 2nd, grounded out in the 4th, hit an RBI double in the 6th, hit an RBI double in the 7th and hit an RBI triple in the 9th.
