Sallee Shuts Out White Sox

Birmingham Black Barons hurler Slim Sallee was at his best as he beat the Chicago White Sox, 13-0.
"He just kept the ball down, did a good job, made his pitches," said Chicago manager . "We didn't do a good job making adjustments, so we helped him out a little bit."
Sallee, who finished 3rd in the AL in wins with 23 last year, fired a 5-hitter and totaled 6 strikeouts and 2 walks in the shutout performance.
On his stats sheet for the year Sallee shows a 17-13 record, 34 starts, 269 innings, 93 strikeouts and a 3.08 ERA.
