Boston Downs Pittsburgh as Redding Tosses 6-0 Shutout Saturday, August 26th , 1916 Dick Redding of the Boston Braves blanked the Pittsburgh Pirates, 6-0, in a complete-game win, limiting them to 5 hits while chalking up 6 strikeouts and giving up 1 walk. "He's got the makeup. He's not afraid to challenge guys," Boston manager said to BNN reporters after the game. "Dick is poised out there. He knows how to pitch and how to use his stuff."
