Boston Downs Pittsburgh as Redding Tosses 6-0 Shutout

Dick Redding of the Boston Braves blanked the Pittsburgh Pirates, 6-0, in a complete-game win, limiting them to 5 hits while chalking up 6 strikeouts and giving up 1 walk.
"He's got the makeup. He's not afraid to challenge guys," Boston manager said to BNN reporters after the game. "Dick is poised out there. He knows how to pitch and how to use his stuff."
Thus far this season, Redding has tossed 270 innings in 35 starts, fanned 125 batters, walked 98 and put up a 3.27 ERA with 13 wins and 14 losses.
