Giants Stop Hornsby at 33 Saturday, August 19th , 1916 The Chicago American Giants clamped down on Rogers Hornsby and put a stop to his hit streak. He went without a hit, ending the run at 33 straight games, but it didn't keep the Cardinals from winning. St. Louis downed the Giants, 6-1. "It was bound to happen," Hornsby said with a shrug after the game. Currently Hornsby is batting .358 with 6 home runs, 62 RBIs and 79 runs scored. |
