Robins Out of Time, Out of Playoffs Saturday, August 19th , 1916 After a tough year, the Brooklyn Robins have been the butt of jokes around many water coolers in the Brooklyn area. There will be some new fodder for jaded fans to discuss now -- the club was officially eliminated from playoff contention today. This is the club's 8th playoff miss in a row. They last appeared in the postseason in 1908. In total, the Robins have missed the playoffs 24 times in their 35-year history. In the last 10 seasons, the Robins have made the playoffs 2 times. Brooklyn has won the World Series 5 times in their history. |
