Pirates Mathematically Out of Playoffs

The Pittsburgh Pirates have been largely irrelevant in the playoff chase for the 1916 season, but now the team is officially and mathematically eliminated from contention.
Pittsburgh last appeared in the postseason in 1906. This is their 10th consecutive year missing the playoffs, and in total they have not advanced past the regular season 29 times in their 35-year history. Pittsburgh has won the World Series 4 times in their history.
