Seattle Celebrates Wild Card Win Thursday, October 2nd , 2014 The Seattle Mariners said they relish the role of underdogs. The Mariners have captured a American League wild card position and will be looking to make some noise in the postseason. "I hope teams take us lightly because we didn't win the division -- but I think they know that would be a mistake," said closer Kazuhiro Sasaki. "If teams think we're a pushover, we've got a surprise for them." When the playoffs begin, Seattle will be looking for its 1st Round 3 title. |
