Dykstra Goes Deep Twice, Helps Mets Top Brewers, 3-2
The bats were silent much of the day at Citi Field. But 30-year old center fielder Lenny Dykstra produced just enough offense to carry the Mets past the Milwaukee Brewers, 3-2. Dykstra slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. New York raised its record to 37-29 with the win.

Dykstra had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a 1-1 fastball from Cal Eldred, he banged a solo home run to left, giving the Mets a 3-2 lead. It was the 9th home run of the year for Dykstra.

"Lenny showed up tonight," said New York manager .
