Brewers Solve Pittsburgh in Extra Innings
|
The Milwaukee Brewers battled the Pittsburgh Pirates into extra innings before the outcome was decided. The Brewers won it, finally, 9-5, in 12 innings. In the game, Milwaukee left fielder Christian Yelich was 3 for 5 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 4. With the victory, the Brewers upped their record to 35-29.
The game was all tied up in the top of the 12th, until Yelich delivered big-time for Milwaukee, stroking a dramatic 2-run single off Deacon Phillippe. The game-changing hit put the Brewers on top, 7-5.
"I'll play 10 innings, I'll play 20," said Brewers manager . "Whatever it takes to win the ballgame."
