Wrigley Field was the site for National League action featuring the Miami Marlins and Chicago Cubs.

The Chicago Cubs put together a convincing win at Wrigley Field, defeating the Miami Marlins, 11-3. Gabby Hartnett was one of the hitting stars. He belted 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice for Chicago. Chicago now has a record of 32-30 with the win.

The Cubs got a big hit from right fielder Sammy Sosa. Facing Miami pitcher Kevin Gregg in the bottom of the seventh, Sosa pounded a 3-run home run to right-center. His 10th home run of the season put the Cubs ahead, 11-3.
