Great American Ball Park was the site of a tense game between the Cincinnati Reds and Philadelphia Phillies.
Philadelphia pitcher Aaron Nola did his part in helping his team beat the Cincinnati Reds, 3-1. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. In 7 innings, Nola surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 2. He allowed 1 run.
Ed Delahanty, who is tied for 2nd in the NL in triples with 7, had a direct impact on the outcome. Delahanty contributed a run-scoring double in the top of the fifth inning to put Philadelphia up, 3-1.
"We did the things it takes to win a ballgame," said Philadelphia manager .
The first-place Phillies sport a record of 37-25.
