The Pittsburgh Pirates knocked off the Milwaukee Brewers, 5-2, in National League action at PNC Park. Pittsburgh pitcher and New York, native John Candelaria had an outstanding performance. Pittsburgh is second in the National League Central Division with a record of 33-28.

The Pirates got a big at-bat from catcher Jason Kendall. For the game, Kendall went 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the first, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave Pittsburgh a 3-0 lead.
