The Houston Astros picked up a win at Minute Maid Park, knocking off the Los Angeles Angels, 4-2. On the mound for Houston was right-hander Don Wilson. He played a key role in the triumph. Houston reliever Frank DiPino picked up the win to move to 2-0. Don Aase suffered the loss. The win boosts the Astros to 30-31. The loss puts the Angels at 22-37.

Brad Ausmus aided the Houston cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the catcher went 1 for 4.

Houston manager was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys played hard," he said.
