The Chicago Cubs picked up a win at Miller Park, knocking off the Milwaukee Brewers, 4-1. On the mound for Chicago was right-hander Rick Sutcliffe. He played a key role in the triumph. Sean Marshall saved it for Chicago. Chicago goes to 29-27, Milwaukee to 31-26.

Chicago used a well-timed hit by Gabby Hartnett to capture the win. The catcher socked a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Cubs ahead, 3-1. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.

"I had everything working," said Sutcliffe.
