6-4 Loss to Phillies Extends New York Losing Streak
The Philadelphia Phillies extended their winning streak.

John Kruk powered the Philadelphia Phillies to a win over the New York Mets. The final score was 6-4. The Philadelphia first baseman was phenomenal. He stroked 2 extra-base hits, including 1 home run and 1 double. The save went to Erskine Mayer, his 18th this season.

Kruk contributed in the bottom of the fourth. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a 2-run double. It was one at-bat among others that helped Philadelphia get the win.

Philadelphia manager was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys played hard, they played all the way through," he said.
