Astros Pick Up 3-2 Road Win Over Kansas City
|
Houston and Kansas City took Mother Nature's best shot and still managed to complete their ballgame.
Houston Astros starter Shane Reynolds was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the Kansas City Royals, 3-2. Reynolds picked up the win for Houston, going 6.1 innings. He gave up 1 run on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 5-1. The save went to Larry Andersen, number 14 for him.
Houston used the hitting of Ken Caminiti to pick up the win. The third baseman clubbed a solo home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Astros on top, 3-0. For the game, Caminiti had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Main thing is I want the team to win," Reynolds told a reporter after the game. "Just have to go out there, take care of my job, and give my team a chance to win."
The third-place Astros go to 26-28.
