The Washington Nationals defeated the Miami Marlins, 5-4, in National League action at Nationals Park. Washington pitcher Pascual Perez had a standout performance. The win makes Washington 16-36, nothing to write home about.

Juan Soto was the walk-off hero for Washington. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Nationals left fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"This place was electric at the end," Perez said.
