Athletics Earn 7-4 Win Against Blue Jays
The Oakland Athletics and Toronto Blue Jays needed extra innings at Rogers Centre to determine a winner.

Oakland center fielder Al Simmons had a 3-RBI performance, which helped his team down the Toronto Blue Jays, 7-4. Oakland pitcher Andrew Bailey earned the win, hiking his record to 3-1. Paul Quantrill suffered the loss. Ryan Cook sewed up the save, his 1st.

Oakland went up, 6-4, on Jose Canseco's 15th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Canseco hit in the top of the 13th, left Toronto pitcher Paul Quantrill shaking his head.

"Whenever you can come through for your ball club, it's a great thing," said Simmons.

The Athletics, at 30-20, sit in second place in the American League Western Division.
