San Francisco pitcher Christy Mathewson did his part in helping his team defeat the Minnesota Twins, 7-2. The opposition could never get too much going against the right-hander. San Francisco's record now stands at 29-22, placing them second in the National League Western Division.

San Francisco second baseman Robby Thompson helped the Giants go up, 3-2, in the bottom of the seventh inning. With the game tied, Thompson hit a run-scoring single off Minnesota pitcher Dutch E Leonard.

"I got in a good groove," said Mathewson. "I was getting some swings and misses."
