Rizzo Swats 2 Homers, Cubs Top Phillies, 13-7
The Chicago Cubs topped the Philadelphia Phillies, 13-7, with first baseman Anthony Rizzo playing a big role. Rizzo was 3-4 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice for the Cubs in the win. Mordecai Brown picked up the win with 6.1 innings of work. He allowed 6 runs on 13 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 2. On the season, he is now 1-0. Philadelphia now has a record of 3-2.

With Chicago trailing 1-0 in the bottom of the first, Rizzo hit a changeup from Ron Reed for a 2-run home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Cubs ahead, 2-1.

Chicago manager was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys went out there and put good wood on the ball," he said.
