Reds Spill Mets, 3-1
|
Conditions were not ideal but Cincinnati and New York were able to put their game in the books.
The Cincinnati Reds beat the New York Mets, 3-1, at Citi Field. Cincinnati first baseman Joey Votto had the hot bat. He went 3-4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times. Aroldis Chapman collected his 1st save.
The game turned with no one out in the top of the fourth. That's when Votto hit a solo home run off Craig Swan. It propelled the Reds into the lead, 2-1.
"We did the things that it takes to win a game," said Votto.
The Reds raised their record to 2-3.
