The Oakland Athletics picked up a win at Rogers Centre, downing the Toronto Blue Jays, 4-3. On the mound for Oakland was left-hander Eddie Plank, who played a pivotal role in the win. The Athletics have a winning streak of 6 games.

Oakland went up, 3-2, on Eric Chavez's 11th home run of the season. The solo home run, which Chavez hit in the top of the seventh, left Toronto pitcher Doyle Alexander stewing.
