Win Makes Cleveland 27-21
|
The Cleveland Indians picked up a win at Progressive Field, taking down the Detroit Tigers, 5-2. Starting pitcher Cliff P Lee was a big reason why. Lee yielded 2 runs over 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 2, and struck out 7. His record improves to 5-3. The Indians lead the American League Central Division by 4 games.
Cleveland went up, 5-2, on John Romano's 1st home run of the season. The grand slam home run, which Romano hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Detroit pitcher Hal Newhouser stewing.
"Cliff P gets on the mound and he competes and that's what you want," said Cleveland manager .
