Blue Jays Tack 5-2 Loss on Boston
|
Toronto got a strong outing from Jimmy Key as the Blue Jays defeated the Boston Red Sox, 5-2, at Fenway Park. In 7.2 innings, Key surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 0. He allowed 2 runs. Duane Ward zipped up his 13th save.
Toronto used a well-timed hit by Bo Bichette to capture the win. The designated hitter socked a run-scoring double in the top of the first inning to put the Blue Jays ahead, 1-0. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.
"I put my work in and trusted the process," said Key.
The American League Eastern Division-leading Blue Jays are 28-18.
