Chicago turned a good effort from starter Doc White into a win over the Houston Astros at Minute Maid Park. The final score was 5-1. Bobby Thigpen earned the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.2 innings. He upped his record to 1-1. With the win, Chicago goes to 18-27, while the Astros fall to 21-23.

It could have been a different outcome for Chicago, had it not been for Magglio Ordonez, the 33-year old right fielder . Ordonez contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the ninth inning to put Chicago up, 2-1.

"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Ordonez said.
