David Price never let Los Angeles get something going. The Tampa Bay left-hander commanded his fastball in pitching the Rays to a 2-1 win. Price, now 3-5, was the winner. In 7.2 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 10, walking 2, and allowing 1 run. Grant Balfour was called on to finish, recording his 8th save.

The Rays got a big at-bat from designated hitter Carlos Pena. For the game, Pena went 1 for 3 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the fifth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Tampa Bay a 2-1 lead.
