Brewers Throttled by Cubs, 3-1

The Chicago Cubs got a magnificent effort from pitcher Rick Reuschel, who kept Milwaukee hitters in check en route to a 3-1 Cubs win at Wrigley Field. In 5.2 innings, Reuschel surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 5. He allowed 1 run. Picking up his 9th save was 28-year old left-handed pitcher Sean Marshall.
The Cubs got a big at-bat from first baseman Anthony Rizzo. For the game, Rizzo was 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 11th home run of the season gave Chicago a 2-0 lead.
"If you chase it, you need to get it," said Chicago skipper .
Chicago now has a record of 23-20 with the win.
