Spirited fans greeted the Houston Astros for their clash with the Los Angeles Angels.

Los Angeles pitcher Jarrod Washburn did his part in helping his team defeat the Houston Astros, 5-2. The opposition could never get too much going against the left-hander. Washburn, the winner, moves to 1-0. He threw 6.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 1 and giving up 3 walks. Picking up the save was Chuck Finley, his 1st.

It could have been a different outcome for Los Angeles, had it not been for Kendry Morales, the 25-year old first baseman . Morales contributed a solo home run in the top of the fourth inning to put Los Angeles up, 2-0.

"This game will punch you right in the mouth," said Washburn. "My job is to show up and give my team a chance."

The victory makes Los Angeles 2-2.
