Vaughan, Pirates March to 5-4 Victory
Pittsburgh shortstop Arky Vaughan helped his team beat the St. Louis Cardinals, 5-4. Vaughan, who is rated as the 50th best prospect by BNN, went 4 for 4 for the Pirates. The winner in relief was Stan Belinda. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 1.2 innings. He now owns a record of 1-0. St. Louis, with the loss, is still a robust 3-1.

Vaughan had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a 2-1 curveball from Mort Cooper, he banged a solo home run to left, giving the Pirates a 4-3 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Vaughan.

"We did enough to win," said Vaughan.
