The 3-hit performance of Tris Speaker, who is the 4th-best prospect in the Red Sox organization, helped the Boston Red Sox beat the Minnesota Twins, 5-2. The second-place Twins now sit at 20-20.

It could have been a different outcome for Boston, had it not been for Jim Rice, the 25-year old left fielder . Rice contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the second inning to put Boston up, 2-0.

Rice attributed the win to "everyone pulling their weight."
