Milwaukee starter Pete Vuckovich kept the Pittsburgh offense from doing much damage. The right-hander leaned on his fastball in leading the Brewers to a 5-1 win. The Brewers raised their record to 22-18.

Milwaukee went up, 2-1, on Ryan J Braun's 1st triple of the season. The run-scoring triple, which Braun hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Pittsburgh pitcher Doug Drabek shaking his head.

"Pete was able to locate to both sides, up and down," said Milwaukee manager .
